Recognizing Top Workplaces Where Employees Thrive
Your Workplace is accepting nominations for the 2018 Thrive Awards. These awards celebrate thriving organizations that have created a healthy, engaged workplace and a positive work culture.
In 2008, Dr. Sandy Cotton wrote “The 10 Principles for a Healthy Workplace.” This article became the benchmark for selection. For simplicity, the original principles were compressed into the following five criteria:
- Collaborative Dialogue
- Clear Outcomes
Any organization that demonstrates a clear commitment to the five criteria is eligible to be nominated.
You may choose to self-nominate, or a nominator can nominate you. Both are acceptable and equally weighted. The following nomination process has been designed to make the Thrive Awards as fair as possible:
Part One (40%)
- Fill out the Nomination Form. (Click on the icon at the top of the page to download the nomination form, which contains more detailed information on the nomination process.)
- In 1,000 words or less, provide reasons why the nominee deserves to win, including references to testimonies, articles and/or press releases that support the nominator(s) position.
- Nominations must be supported with at least two letters from non-personnel. Specifically, suppliers, clients, associates, community groups, associations etc., explaining how the nominee creates a culture founded on the five criteria: collaborative dialogue, trust, clear outcomes, tolerance, and teamwork.
- Extra Credit: Though not required, nominators can take advantage of the opportunity to include a short video of two minutes or less in their application that demonstrates why the organization being nominated is an awesome place to work. If your organization is shortlisted, we will post the video to our website, share it on social media, and may even show it at the Thrive Awards ceremony, pre-conference event, or Imagine Your Workplace Conference.
Part Two (60%)
You may think an organization is a great place to work but obviously everyone who works there needs to agree. In addition to the subjective materials provided in Part One, Part Two consists of an objective analysis of how nominees measure up against the five criteria. This is achieved through an online employee survey conducted in the spring. To qualify for the Thrive Awards, nominated organizations must agree to have employees participate in the Employee Opinion Survey.
THE DEADLINE TO COMPLETE PART ONE OF THE APPLICATION PROCESS IS:
MIDNIGHT, MARCH 5, 2018
Workplaces shortlisted for the 2018 Thrive Awards will be announced on April 6, 2018. The shortlist will be posted to our website and shared with our community through social media.
Awards Ceremony and Reception
The Thrive Awards winner and runners up will be announced at a special reception the day before the Imagine Your Workplace Conference. The winner and runners up will also be featured in a special article in the July/August issue of Your Workplace magazine, which will be posted to our website and shared with our community in our eNewsletter and through social media.
This year the 2018 Thrive Awards ceremony will take place at a special event held on June 6, 2018. Check back soon for more information.
It takes a short time to nominate and the recognition lasts a lifetime!
